BOOM! EXPLOSION! RUN!!!!!!

Today on the 12th November, we did a very very very cool science experiment with Mentos exploding the coke! IT WAS TOTALLY AWESOME!

We sat in our groups on a table as Miss Davies told some of us to get some stuff like how I got the toothpicks. then we talked about what will happen and handed out each of the six 2.25litre cokes to each of our group! 2.25litres! that's heaps for a science experiment but the bigger the better. She told us about the cO2 and we felt the pressure on the top of the lid. Then afterwards we made tubes for at the top of the lid making sure it was not too big for the mentos and toothpicks. Then when we got the tube we poke holes through the bit just above the lid when you put the tube around it and used toothpicks to make a cross. Afterwards we put our fingers just under that cross and inserted the mentos one by one without the wrapper. Then we took off the lid and carefully put the tube on. When it was out turn we did it on the grass by Huia. We quickly took off both of the toothpicks and very quickly we took off the tube after we were definitely sure the mentos went in and then we backed off. it looked very good like a out-of-control exploding fountain. It was very good and afterwards we could've drank it but we didn't (I don't know why) but then we tipped it all out and went back to class.

I think  this was the best science experiment ever. It was very fun and too bad some people missed it because they weren't here and I feel sorry that they missed it. (NOT!)
